Good morning,
Hope everyone is staying warm and hopefully have the option to work remotely this morning. If you must get out on the roads, please use extreme caution due to the cold temperatures and hazardous road conditions.
Crews were out yesterday salting all the roadways in the city to get ahead of the snow, but the cold conditions are slowing the salt activation and keeping the roads hazardous. We were out early this morning evaluating the roadways and crews were mobilized to do what they can to make the roads as safe as possible for us. They will be focusing on the critical roadways in the city first, then secondary roads if needed. Critical roads are the roadways in the elevated areas that can be 10 degrees colder than other areas and have severe slopes.
The cold weather is going to stick around for a few days with Thursday into Friday being the coldest. The good news is the weather will warm up on Saturday and get back to normal temperatures.
City Hall will be closed today, but staff will be working remotely. If you need assistance, please email us directly or email info@cityofforesthills.com. I have also included links for your reference if you experience any service problems, tree issues, or weather-related issues.
Stay safe and warm and let us know if you need anything.
