Xmas tree

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the City of Forest Hills!

The city would like to thank our design organizer Melissa Hodges and her team for doing such a wonderful job on the city's holiday decor. Melissa and her team spent several days decorating all the city columns and stone walls through the city with beautiful holiday garland and wreaths.

They also designed a gorgeous new Christmas tree for City Hall which is on display in the lobby for everyone to enjoy. The new tree is a Vickerman 10' x 72" Douglas Fir with warm LED lights and a little twinkle to capture Christmas.

Melissa not only chose a great design, but she also incorporated a little touch of Forest Hills. The tree features several pieces of wildlife that are commonly known to live in our community such as deer, owl, fox, otter, etc. The tree also displays Bison that represent our historic Bison Meadow Park. This park is sited on a terminal branch of historic Natchez Trace at Hillsboro Road at Hemmingway Drive. This "old indian path" itself followed the path of the buffalo, elk, and other larger animals heading to the big salt lick on the Cumberland River.

From all of us at the City of Forest Hills, have a great Christmas Holiday!!!
