Grants Help City Improve Services

The city has been working very hard to obtain several federal and state grants to assist with much-needed improvements. These grants are specific and must be used under strict guidelines for the projects they were awarded under. The bulk of the City’s matching funds will come from the remainder of the ARPA Grant of 2021.

The following grants below have now been approved.

ARPA of 2021
This grant was used for the city-wide camera project and other capital project expenditures. There were two disbursements of $715,079.45 for a total of $1,430,158.90.

TDEC ARP Grant

These funds are for the City’s Master Stormwater Plan. The grant provided $743,882.08 with the City’s match of $260,358.73 for a grand total of $1,004,240.81.

TDOT TAP Grant
The award for the new Tyne Boulevard Pathway Project totaled $1,993,913 with our match of

$498,478.30 reached a grand total of $2,492,391.30.

The following grant below is pending approval.

TDOT Multimodal Grant

This Grant will be appropriated for the intersection of Hillsboro Pike/Tyne Boulevard to cover necessary improvements to the current bike path and construct a connection to the new pathway along Tyne Blvd. The maximum amount allotted for this grant is $1,125,000.
