The City of Forest Hills has engaged an engineer in April 2021 to conduct a drainage study of the Tyne/Hemingway area
PROJECT: Drainage Study – Tyne/Hemingway area
PROJECT LIMITS: 340+/- acres (See Map)
DESCRIPTION: Numerous drainage complaints and flooding issues.
SCOPE: Multiple drainage studies in 340+/- drainage area. Analyze existing pipes/culverts and ditches.
COMPLAINTS/FLOODING ISSUES:
2205 Hemingway: Analyze culvert and ditch beside house. Pipe has been stopped up by homeowner.
2209 Hemingway: Analyze culvert and ditches. Heavy rains exceed capacity of creek and overflow road into yard and house.
2200 Tyne: Yard floods due to flow from 2205 & 2209 Hemingway. Yards are heavily landscaped.
2600 Tyne: Ditch in side yard is eroding.
2604 Tyne: Analyzed culverts and ditches. Heavy rains flood across yard.
2709/2801 Tyne: under Tyne drains between houses in a private pipe. Heavy rains floods property at 1005 Foxwood.

2807 Tyne: Culvert under Tyne drains between houses near lot line. Heavy rains floods basement.
